“Literacy Planet has increased engagement levels in my grade 5/6 class so much. The kids keep begging me to set them more tasks and they come in each morning chatting to each other about how they saw each other online when they were using the program as their literacy homework. It's great to be able to target tasks to individual needs and I use Literacy Planet as part of my individual learning plans. We love it!!”

“I like the way it’s fun and you’re learning at the same time and don’t even know it! I like how you get stuff and how you can fiddle around with things and get credits and receive more than you expect. I enjoy getting mail from my teacher.”
Grace - Year 3

“I think Literacy Planet is awesome, I always hope to get the Treasure Chest when I spin the Wheel! I like all the clothes and cute characters and how you can actually buy stuff unlike other Literacy learning games.”

“I like Literacy Planet because you get to play all different games not just the same types. You also get points and if you’re lucky enough you can also get onto the leader-board. I also enjoy spinning the Prize Wheel and hope to get the Treasure Chest.”

“I like it because there are different types of learning, like pre-reading and phonics. I like it how there are little trophies and if you don’t get one right you can try again to get a Gold one.”

“Literacy Planet allows students to explore fundamental literacy skills in a fun and engaging way. Literacy Planet also provides a range of lessons and learning activities that cater to the individual needs of specific students. By providing an engaging game-based program with challenging tasks, students are encouraged to achieve a high level of accuracy in all areas of Literacy. I am able to assign specific learning tasks that can target areas requiring improvement. My students really enjoy their time with Literacy Planet.”

"My child is so enthusiastic about this program. We have spent money on a lot of other programs but he will use them for a little while and then loses interest. Now he begs us to stay up an extra hour of a night so he can do more reading and word finds on Literacy Planet. We are very happy."

"My student loves using Literacy Planet so much. The student has severe visual perception problems, as a result of brain damage from epilepsy. He struggles with his reading and although in Yr. 7, he is reading at approximately a Yr. 1 level. My student loves earning the gold awards and proudly wanted me to see his gold award tally. He loves getting more points and will tell me how many points he now has and how many dollars he has earned. He has shown me his avatar and the clothes that he has bought with his money. Literacy Planet has greatly improved his motivation to read and do reading comprehension; spelling and sight word reading. The student has also improved in the work he is doing for his written work and is much more motivated and independent with this work. I have found the student to be more confident and willing to read and have seen a real improvement in his word recognition and decoding skills."

"Literacy Planet is awesome! It feels like just playing on a computer game but I'm learning. Phonics is my best part because I've earned all the trophies. I can see straight away that I am doing better."

"I have never in my whole teaching career come across a program that excites and motivates children to want to learn. That then makes my job so much easier. It is most rewarding to me when I see the children with learning differences, right along the continuum just want to work on Literacy Planet."

"I like Literacy Planet because it is a fun place to learn. When you play a learning game you earn coins to buy clothes from the shop for your avatar. Cool! I love selecting different looks for my cute little avatar. I also really enjoy the different spelling games, they help me improve my spelling skills. The donkey race in the Arena is a fun competition, although I keep losing."

"My oldest son has been going to reading group for two years, and earlier this year he started using Literacy Planet. My other son also started on Literacy Planet and has come up three reading levels in three months at school. Whilst my sons were on the program I realised that my 2 1/2 year old daughter was copying the lady's voice as she spoke. This was a major thing as she doesn't speak much due to a hearing problem. However I started sitting her at the computer in front of level 1 unit 1 of the phonics and she started repeating the vowels and consonants after the lady. I am not sure how much she is absorbing but the fact that she is repeating the tutorial is great on a speech level, and the sitting and concentrating for that few minutes is also great."

"My 6 year old son thanked me for finally letting him play a fun game, instead of all those boring learning games. Four months on he still has not realised it is a learning game; he is so focused on earning money to buy stuff for his avatar. My 10 year old also loves it!"

"Hello I am alex. I really like Literacy Planet and how you did it. Even though I have learnt a lot at school there are still some things that I need to improve. But I think that I have improved. I like how you have designed the shop and the home and all the mystery items. It is good to have mystery items then if there is something you want you have to then you have to work to get it."

"My son loves Literacy Planet – so much that when he gets home from school he no longer asks "Mum can I watch TV?" now he asks "Mum can I play Literacy Planet?" The program has totally engaged him, the rewards built into the program keep him motivated and wanting to achieve more. Since he started using Literacy Planet we have noticed his vocabulary has increased and his spelling has improved."

"I work with students with varying degrees of needs, some that simply need a little extra and then those that require a substantial deal of assistance. Literacy Planet gives students the opportunity to progress at their own level without pressure, while having fun at the same time. The program is interactive, educationally sound, sequential, colourful and inviting and I have enjoyed being able to incorporate all of these elements into my lessons to make them more interesting. Literacy Planet has provided an excellent platform to engage all my students."

"Every week I speak to a new principal, teacher, parent or community member that wants their child to have access to Literacy Planet. I have never encountered an educational program that children are so eager and willing to take part in."
