We get it; traditional teaching methods may not always hit the mark in capturing student interest. A LiteracyPlanet, we aim to bring in some fresh approaches that infuse a sense of excitement into the learning process, making it engaging and fun for students of all age groups.

Are you new to our platform? Amazing, we love having you here! Now let’s look at the six steps that make getting started with our platform a breeze.

What makes LiteracyPlanet so special?

One of the standout features of our platform (which we actually love the most!) is the capacity to customise the learning experience for every student. We fully acknowledge that each student is a unique individual, each with their own set of strengths and areas for growth. LiteracyPlanet empowers you to personalise learning materials to precisely match each student’s specific requirements.

1. Dive into the Student Experience

Understanding how to use LiteracyPlanet effectively from a student’s perspective is key. Familiarise yourself with the platform’s features and options. You can also watch our quick and informative webinars on YouTube for a deeper understanding. Use Explore Student Mode straight from your dashboard.

2. Set Up Your Class and Students

Setting up your class and adding students is your first administrative task. We know it might not be the most exciting part, but it’s a breeze! Go to “Manage Students” and then “Add Students.” You can add them individually or in bulk, and specify their year and classes. We did our best to make the admin side of things easy to navigate and understand.

3. Provide Students with Access to LiteracyPlanet

Now that your class is ready, it’s time to get your students on board and kickstart their literacy journey. By selecting “print students card,” you can generate a list of login details for all your students. You can choose to download, print, or project this list on a whiteboard for easy access. You could even turn it into a little game for your class and have them find their login details, for example hide them somewhere in the room.

4. Select Engaging Tasks

Your students will automatically have missions assigned based on their year and age. However, you can also choose specific literacy tasks from our five strands. These tasks help develop your students’ knowledge and skills in specific areas. Assign tasks at any time by navigating to the “Teaching” section and selecting the year level, strand, and mission you want to assign.

5. Track Student’s Progress

To keep an eye on your students’ progress, head to the Student Activity Report. This report provides an overview of each student’s activity progress and the class’s overall performance. You’ll find data on average accuracy by strand, completed missions, and the latest lessons and results.

6. Getting Support at LiteracyPlanet
